Replaced rear view mirror. Now key fob's remote functions won't work.

Hello there,

I have a 2009 Mini Cooper Hatchback. If I replace the rear view mirror, do I have to reprogram the key fob for the fob to be able to unlock/lock the car?

The original mirror won't keep position so I replaced it with a used one off ebay (E1010784). It mounts and connects to the receiver wire perfectly but the fob won't unlock/lock the car remotely with the new mirror. The connector on the new mirror looks clean. I put the original mirror back on for now (fob works fine with old mirror).

Thanks!

No reprogramming needed. Sounds like you just got a bum mirror. You could swap out the guts though. They come apart fairly easily.
