R60 Key fob (remote functions) not working
I apologize if this has been asked before--searching gave me some info for other models, but haven't found anything yet to resolve this.
2014 countryman S.
I purchased the vehicle used, and didn't realize till a few days later that the key FOB does not lock/unlock doors.
I have broken open the FOB and replaced (de-soldered and installed new) the battery, thinking that had to be the issue.
multi-meter shows that the battery is operating correctly, and charging when in the cradle
Car starts as expected, etc. so the immobilizer system is recognizing the FOB
I don't have access to a spectrum analyzer, so I cant verify that the FOB is sending a signal on button press
SO--either I have a non-functioning FOB - OR the vehicle is not receiving the signal.. I know that box lives in the Rear-view mirror. I've checked the pins and sockets there, as well as verify it is getting power.
I've seen some "programming" steps for getting the car to recognize the FOB, and I've tried everything I have read.
Seems like there's some really sharp people on here. Can I get some advice?
TIA

I suppose you can check for the fob signal at autozone or pepboys.
You could buy a rear view mirror amd swap it out if the fob signal checks out.
Also, there is a fuse for this system you could check. The fuse box is behind the passenger kick panel.
