Fixed my 1st problem. Engine code 1497
So I got my mini last Saturday. It already had the 1497 code. A little background on me. I have very little wrenching experience. 1 of the reason I got this sweet ride was to tinker and get my kids, 12, 19, 26, tinkering. So I google the hell out of it and found on another forum someone with the same code. He mentioned a plastic ribbed nylon covered hose with a crack in it. I go under the hood and look for any hose with a nylon sheath and boom. It’s the crankcase vent hose, with a crack in one of the ribs. I do a small patch job and now no code today. Going to replace the brittle plastic hose with a rubber heater hose like I saw on YouTube.
That's what I did for mine also, mine wasn't cracked but was clearly brittle so when I had the air box off and the valve cover I did it to prevent future issues. a couple pipe clamps and away she goes!
