Where is my Thermostat Bleeder Screw

See attached image. I don't see a bleeder screw. It should be where the circle is. How do I bleed the coolant system with no way to bleed the coolant system?
The image is looking straight on to the vehicle and down toward the thermostat, HPFP on top.

It can be tough to find, but it should be there, it looks like you need to look just a tad further back, almost, but not quite under the edge of the fuel pump.
you can barely make it out, but I just took a photo of mine, if you look really close you can see the cross in the head. It’s a plastic screw, and may be under the wiring harness partially.
What year is it? This photo is an N18

Look really close where it’s circled and you may be able to just make it out.

I tried to look from the same angle as your photo and it really wasn’t visible..... it’s a pretty tight space down in there, and dark.

The sensor is the actual bleeder screw.
Who designed this car...lol

If you go back and look at my picture, you will see a line on the sensor. It is partially obscured by the wire protector. If you pull the wire protector to one side, you can clearly see that the sensor has a line to hold a flat head screwdriver blade slightly off center. I will try and turn this eventually and it will either turn as a bleed screw or I will need a new sensor.

I presume this design was eventually determined to be "insane" and replaced.

Yes, there are two different screws for them depending on your thermostat, one is a larger size and the temp sensor was redesigned I believe.
Be careful! Don’t unscrew it more than 5 turns or it may shoot out of there under pressure and be lost. (Ask me how I know, lol)
just loosen it a bit until the air starts to burble out. I always have a spare one handy in my desk, just in case. Because I’m 25 miles from the dealership and I had a real nice stream of coolant shooting out! Ha ha. I made something work temporarily, but then went and picked a few up since they are cheap.
live and learn!
Good luck, let me know if I can help from long distance.

Thanks.
I don't think it is possible to loose mine. It is connected to two wires.

Yeah it is a good thing all these cars were designed the same.
I just found this TIS service bulletin (attached).
N18 engines up to March, 2013, they put my type of sensor in (https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...r/13628603908/)
It was a stop gap, where they basically just removed the bleeder screw out of the old thermostat designs and added this second sensor into the top of the thermostat as a sensor/bleeder screw combo and then t-d it off to the other MAP sensor from the computer.

You can't even get this thermostat design anymore.
Like everything else on this car...it is a problem waiting to happen.

If you end up replacing it with the newer version, there is a wiring adapter you may need to get to go with it.
My 2012 has the newer style in it now....twice, lol

Ok, well twice doesn't sound like an update. lol
Once I replace the other part, I will do a pressure check. I probably won't bother if it holds water. It probably will go between this and 90K and then I will just do the entire water system. I might get a new water pump tensioner to squeeze out those miles.

Yeah I had to do mine twice..... the first time it went out... number two was entirely of my own doing. It’s a long and ugly story, ha ha........Aaaannd somewhat embarrassing because it was really stupid! Lol
