My R55 has had a bunch of evaporative emission codes. Checked the DMTL wiring and found that the connector has been previously replaced with a generic plug with all white wires, and whoever did the repair did a crappy job. Two of them were corroded enough that they broke as soon as I touched them. My problem is that the wiring diagram on Mitchell-1 in a little ambiguous as to which wire goes where.
I would normally assume that the X5353 connector is further back in the harness, and that the BRN/BLU goes to pin 1 on the pump, and BLK/VIO to pin 2, even though they're reversed at the X5353. Can someone with a different manual or wiring diagram confirm this? Some engineer needs his @$#@!@# kicked for this one.
