R56 Engine Swap N14 to N18?

New to here so don't know much but was just looking for answers on an engine Swap on my Manual 2012 R56 JCW I was wanting to know if the 2013 N18 JCW engine would be a perfect fitment in my MINI that currently has the 2012 N14 JCW engine or would there be many problems?

Yes, too many problems. If you do a search you will fine a few who have tried and gave up. There are many variables that would require the entire wire harness to be changed out from dash to DME. It wold be cheaper and less headache to replace the car.
I researched this as well some time ago.

If you searched, you'd find my thread lol

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...gine-swap.html

short answer is yes you can swap it and you don't need to change the entire harness from dash to DME; only few wires relocated.

Actually, I did see your thread when I researched the swap. Yours was still a basket case at that time. I wrote it off as a start and a give up. Your tenacity is impressive. As stated in other threads, n18s are more readily available and less expensive these days.

Do you have a thread on this swap? I have an n16 that is dead. I'd put in an n18 if it was cheaper and not toooooo difficult.

You bet https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...-with-n18.html I'm currently working few issues engine related though. It is much easier to marry the N18 ECU to the N16 CAS....in my case, I'm still using the N18 ECU/CAS/keyfob set.

I would sooner rebuild the JCW N14 with better components than go through the hassle of swapping an N18 into it.

Car looks great, by the way
