Wouldn't it be easier to just install the correct AGM battery?

It certainly would have been. I was led to believe that oem was lead acid. So too late now.

Cant help with the Schwaben Tool but good to know you cant code. The AGM battery at Costco is $150 and H5 but you have to call around as most are out of them. At OReilly Or Autozone they are $200 for AGM. The stock 570CC on my car was AGM so like for like although...thats pretty low crank.

Seeing if any LA Mini members wanna help me reset although my local mechanic said he will do it for $50.

Ok, just got some info back from our team, looks like they have noted this and will have an update for software to go from AGM to LA in the future, estimations for software update in May of this year. Might be better just to go to AGM for now. Sorry it can not do that at this point. Software can be updated http://www.foxwelltech.com/support/ register it and get the software update in the future.

I know it can update for Lead acid to Lead acid and many other things.

OK, so Advance Auto graciously agreed to accept the return of my battery and swap it out with a 70 Ah AGM, so I should be good to go. I'm going to see if I can get deep OBD working with a BT adapter, and I'll update to let everyone know if deep obd can recode the battery correctly.

Has the Schwaben scanner been updated to change battery capacity? I was just looking and it appears that the option exists, but was too chicken to mess something up.

I was going to put a 48 series battery in my 2013 R56 with IBS. It would have 70 ah/760 CCA vs the original (!) battery which is 60 ah and 680 CCA. Nice for Ohio winters.

Have not changed the battery, i have just reprogrammed/reset when i replaced with new. If you can change it it will show then you have to hit yes or/F1/F3 to complete.

Thanks for the reply. I didn't get to test the change in capacity programming. The battery I wanted wasn't in stock nearby so I bought the standard AGM size 47 replacement. The previous one worked fine for nine years, most of which were in NE Ohio. Probably not necessary to get the larger battery.

I just replaced mine with the OEM battery, if the car sets a bunch its like 3 years, if you drive it a bunch i got about 8-10 years.
