Hi guys been wanting to get back into mini life after selling my 2002 base a few years ago. So I have an associate who has a 2008 mini clubman base. The car has what appears to be a burnt engine harness in the rear of the engine. Removed the air box which the lower part is melted. The wiring to the starter has the shielding melted off and is just bare wire, there’s two sensors off to the passenger side of the engine which the wires to them also have melted off but the plug connectors are still there.

Ill assume the intake manifold is melted and will and will need replacing as it’s plastic and if the air box melted from the hear I’ll assume this too melted. How hard is it to replace the harness?

The damage may extend beyond just the wire harness. It may have corrupted the electronics too.
