R56 Differences between U.S. and "Canadian" version of base engine
Differences between U.S. and "Canadian" version of base engine
I am replacing the engine in an '07 base. The replacement engine that I bought is an 2010 from Detroit. I called a local dealer to get info about the engine wiring harness part numbers. He said that the 2010 engine is a "Canadian" version.
Does anyone know what the differences might be between US and Canadian engines?
Should I just research every sensor on the car and/or check for differences? Or just swap over the original engine wiring harness and cross my fingers? Or am I in trouble if there are internal differences.
Thanks,
Steve H.

The original '07 wiring harness is part number 7567127
The replacement '10 harness has part number 7585948
It would be nice if they are interchangeable. It would save me the time of swapping the original harness over to the new engine.

According to this it is the harness for the "Cold - climate version".

What years was the cold climate version an option, and what changed on the engine?
Thanks,
Steve H.
