Clutch Pedal Advice/Help Please
Clutch Pedal Advice/Help Please
A few days ago I posted a thread regarding my clutch being replaced by the dealer and now the clutch pedal feels softer/ mushier than before the repair. Can anyone tell me if there is a relatively easy way to adjust the pedal feel to make it firmer, more positive feeling w/o having to go back to the dealer? It is a long trip, and it seems as though for every problem addressed under warranty by a dealer, I come home with some new problem. Anyone?
I have 2 MCSs. The clutch pedal feels different on them, one firmer, one softer. Had the softer feel clutch checked, it was O.K. May not be cause for concern. Try to look for other signs that may indicate that something went wrong with the install. What to look for.....
, don't know exactly. Maybe someone else will chime in.

Softer clutch feel is usually from the pressure plate so if you insist on
replacing them the dealer will need to take apart the car again...which
they probably won't be too thrilled to do.
Unless you're hearing noises or clutch slipping, your car is probably okay.
Is the soft feel too much to accept or something you can get over?
I personally never really liked the MCS's clutch pedal location and feel
so I could careless if it was a tad mushier... but that's just me.

My clutch has been replaced three times (the most common cooper problem in Mexico). The last clutch they installed feels a lot softer than the previous ones and the burning clutch problem was finally solved for good.
I know a harder clutch means a sportier car, yet I do prefer the soft feel, specially when you get stuck in traffic
