Power steering recall?

Ok I just bought my 3rd 05 S today, on the way home the dreaded power steering pump went out. It shows on Minis website that mine is one of the recalled ones, I read something that there was a 13 year cap on repair. But now I am reading that with it being safety that the recall does not expire, is this correct?

My precious 05 was just done a few months ago. Just call your local MINI dealer and give them the VIN to check. Faster than you would get any definitive answer in this graveyard.

I also got my 2005 R52 S done a few months ago. As it's a safety recall, I don't think there's any date or mileage limit.

Yeah I verified earlier that it's still open. Sadly dealing with Hendricks is like extracting teeth, the guys was a smarta**. Well we have to first pull the pump off and check the serial number to make sure it's one of the affected. I am the 3red owner and crazy enough I just bought it yesterday, on the way home it went out. But this is my 3rd 05S and my 2nd one went out back in 05 so I kinda knew what to expect.

Lost of info here on the recall, mine was looked at for the recall and since the pump was already replaced once with the updated unit, i did not get a new pump.
