Installed new hpfp, still has same issue
2012 w 130k miles. Out of the extended warranty. Lpfp runs, and I have 12v to the hpfp. Scan tool shows 75 psi line pressure before and after pump replacement. No indication of water in the fuse box or around it. Code 2be9, cyl injection cutout: psi too low in hp fuel system. Don’t have the equipment to check actual hpfp output with a gauge. Any ideas? I’ve been searching google before and after replacement and I felt like I was on the right track replacing the pump.

FWIW - I have a 2009 MCS with 150K miles. When it had 134K miles, I had the fuel pressure sending unit, on the fuel-rail fail on my car. Fuel pressure was reading low. While troubleshooting, we disconnected HPFP and ECU was still seeing low fuel pressure, when it should have been zero. This is when we concluded the fuel rail pressure sensor was bad.
Here's the rub. When I tried to source a new fuel rail pressure sensor, which screws into the fuel rail no one had it. Every place i contacted said it only came with the entire fuel rail (> $500). My Indie removed the fuel pressure sending unit from fuel rail, so I could get the part number. I was able to source it from a Peugeot dealer in UK for ~20GPB. My wife just happened to be in UK, and I had her bring it back to US for me.
I'm the original owner of 2009 MCS. It's a royal PITA, I would never buy another MINI! But, I so enjoy driving it when its running. And, because I'm somewhat mechanically inclined, I can do a lot of the maintenance (oil changes, brakes, etc) myself. But the real reason I still have it is that I have a wonderful Independent mechanic who specializes in these and is able to do the big/major stuff.
