Automatic Gear Selector Adjustment
Automatic Gear Selector Adjustment
So my car wouldn't start. It tries to turn over for a split second then stops. Battery is good. Connection is good. I noticed the button on my selector lever has been loose for quite a while and I did get the yellow gear icon from time to time. I have the code A0B6. I turned on ignition and moved the selector lever through the positions then put back into park. Tried to start car and this time nothing. I tried to pull the lever out of park with ignition off as suggested but couldn't do it. I saw the video by Itemup5650 on how to repair/replace the switch mechanism but he didn't show how to make the adjustment. I'm hoping I can just make an adjustment. Is there any way to make an adjustment without special tool 244270? I did a search for the tool and cant find it anywhere. The instructions in the Bentley manual call for this tool. The instructions for adjustment aren't very clear. So has anyone made this adjustment and if so what are the procedures?
