This has happened twice in the last few days. I cut the engine and the brake lights (rear lights) stay on. The only way I can get them off is to turn the engine on and then off again.

Is this a normal thing? Is there a setting I hit somewhere?

Man little things seem to keep popping up on my car. The lights, my steering is kind of odd and I'm almost due for my normal oil change. But hey what can I say I DRIVE my mini.

 

I think there is a feature that leaves rear parking lights on after car is turned off.it is activated by turning the light switch to the first "on" position(from off) and then turning the car off .I did this inadvertantly a few times by turning the lights off as I was turning the car off at the same time.if your car is doing this all on it's own, then there is definately a problem that needs dealer attn. I don't think I am doing what you described but I will try what you said just to make sure. Thanks for the input, I was wondering if there was a way to trigger this.
