The "pleatherette" or whatever it's called on my driver's seat has been in rough shape for a while now, but replacing it just became a high priority this weekend when I turned the seat heater on, went to grab something from the trunk, and came back to see a wisp of smoke coming from a small but growing melt-hole in the lumbar area. I've got a line on a couple of different salvaged seats in my area, but wanted to get opinions on a couple of issues...

1) Were the heated front seats standard on the R53? Apparently the seat airbags were optional, but will any seat i see listed have heat?

2) I'm specifically looking for leather (I know it won't match unless/until I replace the passenger seat too). Any reason I should consider cloth or another pleatherette?

3) Anything tricky about swapping them out? Since there's an airbag involved I'll d/c the battery, but beyond that I'm expecting to just pull some bolts and undo an electrical connector - am I wrong?
