I have a problem and was wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

Do you have problems with your seat heaters? Only those that have the heated seats that is. I have had this slight problem for a short time now, and at first attributed it to getting older and having hot flashes. Then this weekend it happened again after driving for about half an hour. At first there was not a problem, and then the seat back started to get hot. I thought it was me so just kept driving, then for some reason I had to get something out of the passenger seat and noticed the seat back for it was hot as well. The rest of the seat was cool, the AC was on, but the seat back was warm to hot. I checked the buttons to make sure that I had not hit them by accident, because that has happened, but both were off.

Anyone else?

Any suggestions? Still under warranty and when I take it in next week, I will have it checked, but I am getting close to the end of the warranty period and I don't want this to become one of those to be continued problems . . . .

As far as I know, the seat backs do not have the heaters in them. Just the butt parts (whatever they are called).

Leather? Sun through the sun roof or wndows? Just checking the obvious.

The seat backs ARE heated as well, but mine have never come on by themselves.

Yes the seatbacks are most definitely heated. On cars with the seat heaters, there are 4 connectors under the front of the seat. One blue and one yellow for the airbag and seatbelt sensor, and two black connectors for the heated seats. Logic dictates that one of these would be for the seat bottom and the other for the seat back.

Last summer I used the heated seat to sooth a sore back, but I disliked heating up my butt at the same time. This summer I'm going to figure out which black connector is for the seat and disconnect it so only the seat back will be heated.

are you sure you didn't hit the button by mistake while adjusting the side mirrors?

It's 95 degrees outside so I now have standard seat heaters until Fall comes and I didn't even have to pay for it.

Sorry - I know that doesn't help but I couldn't resist.

Thanks for all of the replies, and yes, I am sure I did not hit the heater switch by accident. Maybe I'll just pull the plug on both and see if that solves the problem. Would tell me for sure if I have a problem with the car or myself, hot back wise that is.
