Car on Fire

Today my 2013 mini cooper S suffered an electrical fire gurning through the driver's door (actual fire with flames) through the dash. A little shocked. Fire department said the start of the fire was the control box inside the driver door shorting out and igniting the wires in the door and running the shorted wires to the battery location. Anyone else have an issue with car electrocuting itself?
