Just did the clutch clutch fork doesnt spring back

Is this normal? I pushed the clutch fork towards the engine when i put it all back together and it did not spring back. is this normal?

I know that the pivot point is in its home and that the TOB is correctly pushed into the fork and on the shaft.

I am thinking this is normal?

I don't think that is normal, the forks on the clutch housing should spring the TOB back. Is the clutch plate in the correct way round?

yes because the pivot point went into its hole as well as the divot for the slave is on the outside. I just installed the new clutch and have yet to drive on it. when i pushed on the clutch fork it went in about an inch. then stopped.

You likely can't compress the pressure plate fingers by pushing on the clutch fork with your hand. It'll take way more force than that. So probably what you're feeling is just free play in the clutch fork. When the slave presses on the clutch fork it presses on the throw out bearing which presses on the pressure plate fingers.

That actually makes a lot of sense. I was more just trying to make sure that there is some play in the clutch fork. I would say somewhere between a 1/2" to 1". which it sounds like is normal.
