Windshield cowl is not flush.

hey guys, my windshield cowl gone bad so i replaced it with a new one. The problem is, the battery side is not flush to the windscreen. I fear this might cause water leakage to the firewall hence creating problems.

how can i fix this, or should i not be worried?

I always remove the wiper arm to give a better position to push it against the windshield. sometimes the plastic trim attached at the bottom of the windshield comes loose. take is off and make it is not moving,

Same thing happened to me when I replaced my two windshield cowl pieces. They're supposed to press into a notched mounting strip that holds them against the glass, and that wasn't holding the new ones properly. Replacing the mounting strip fixed the issue. Here's the part you need:

Anyway, it shouldn't hurt anything if it's not fully seated. That area isn't meant to be watertight.

I replaced the cowl and the mounting strip
(which, by the way was very hard to press
into place), and still couldn’t get the cowl
flat and flush.
its not too bad so I’m not going to try
any more on it.

I have seen safelite replace my MINI window many times, when they run too much (betalink aka window sealant) on the lower part and does not allow the stip to clamp, I had them trim a bit away for the seal to hold on.
