Check Engine Code P16E9

I'm looking for some advice/help my R56s 2013. About a week ago the check engine light came on with P16E9 code from doing some research this code is for "DME, internal fault, monitoring 5V sensor power supply 3: Voltage outside valid range". Other than the check engine light the car seems to run fine and this is the only code. The light will come on and off seemingly at random so i'm thinking it might be a loose conection. I'm hoping there is an easy fix to this issue that does not require a new DME any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Does the code reappear directly after you clear the code ? you may check the DME plugs pins. disconnect the battery, and unplug the DME look at the pins.

another test is to remove the top and middle plugs, turn on the car, and check for this specific code (many more codes will appear, that's fine, but the focus is on P16E9 code)

a little secret: you can buy a used ECU (matching part number) and clone your original ECU. I've done it first hand

Thanks for advice. Unfortunately after inspecting the plugs nothing seemed out of the wrong. I also tried disconnecting top and middle plugs the P16E9 code was still there. Not sure if it carried over or not, I tried to clear it before removing the plugs but it turned right back on.

if the code was still there after removing the top and middle plugs, I'm afraid this is in internal DME fault.

I have a 2012 countrymen same engine, I will take the two plugs to see what codes i get. stay put. (I'll do it tomorrow morning)
