Oil light keeps coming on

I just bought this 2011 Clubman s and the oil light keeps coming on I fill it every you like 50 - 100miles. Yet when I check it after it's been sitting for a few hours the dipstick is plenty full. But it goes off when I add oil but does this mean my oil sensor is bad

Are you actually having to replace oil every 50-100 miles? If so you either have a serious leak or you are burning oil. Don’t overfill with oil as that can cause foaming which can potentially starve the engine if oil pressure.

It has a leak and I saw some smoke when I was buying it. I had never seen that light before and I'm astonished that there are 2 different check engine lights. I managed to pull the code when it came back up again and it is a P0087, indicating a fuel issue, something I would rather have than anything to do with oil. I'll try and do an oil change this weekend. I actually haven't noticed
any smoke since I bought the high mileage oil. Maybe that's what it needed.

Have you done a compression test? That will tell you what your rings are like.
