Rear hatch popping incessantly r56

Hey, I have a strange problem and I'm hoping it's something I can fix without buying a new key fob.
my rear hatch doesn't have a working button, but the jet fob works on command. However, lately it has been unlatching on it's own. The pressure of a shutting cardoor is enough to half latch it, but it will give me the rear hatch warning always. I've tried to find a pattern with it but it usually seems to do with when the door opens or when the car is unlocked... I'm hoping there's a fuse I can replace easily or something.
Any thoughts?
Thank you

Sounds like the latch is either not shutting completely or wearing out.

I have considered that it is potentially wearing out, but it was replaced about a year ago, as the last one locked shut and wouldn't respond to the fob.
It does close completely. Then I'll open the door, sit down and then hear "pop" as the hatch opens.
I did have about a couple of weeks of no involuntary popping after discovering that the latch was loose and moving around on it's adjustable bolts

Sounds like it’s loose again. Or not latching completely even though it may seem like it’s solid.

I agree. Had a similar problem myself. Dealer replaced the latch and once I learned not to be too gentle when closing it I never had a recurrence. It's been working fine for more than two years now.

You can replace the button on the back of the car. You have to do the whole housing and rear trim piece. Its an easy plug an play as long as you are OK with chrome. My rear handle stopped working and I just couldnt live with key popping it everytime, so I replaced it.
