P0108 MAP Sensor (I think)

I have a 2012 Mini, base version all stock. Threw an emissions icon. Also really rough start, which smooths out after a surge or two. Looked it up and the suggestions I see are MAP sensor. I have found ways to test the MAP sensor so want to try that. But I cannot find a good, actual, picture of the engine bay with the MAp sensor highlighted. Is it under the airbox maybe?

Thanks for any help!

Any idea at all? I see the diagram on the realoem site, and it looks like it shows it on the driver's side of the engine. But I can't tell from the diagram if I have to move something in order to see it.

Sorry nobody has replied yet. The MAP sensor is located on the top of the intake manifold, under the airbox. You will need to remove the airbox to see and access it.
you can’t miss it, it’s the only thing bolted to the top of the manifold with a plug and wire connected to it. Take out the single 8mm bolt, and it pops out. There is an o-ring on it, make sure it is intact and not missing or torn.

Edit: From a brief glance on the web, it looks like the MAP sensor is the same for the S and base models.

OK awesome. I don't know why I can't find a picture of this anywhere. Under the airbox is what I was thinking but don't have the car with me right now. Thank you so much for the answer. I really really appreciate it.

Here’s a picture of what it looks like and where it is on my S model.
Im pointing at it there on top of the blue boost tap. Yours will be there without the blue piece.

OK against the firewall under the airbox. I appreciate the help immensely.

No problem, it isn’t right against The firewall, but it’s close to it, whithin 6 inches or so.

Hmmm, I didn't find it. Is it under the air intake on the driver's side? Or is it on the passenger side. This car didn't look exactly the same.

I took some pictures of the engine compartment with the air intake removed. Not seeing the MAP sensor there. I did notice a rubber hose just hanging lose not connected to anything. Any idea what this hose goes to? I don't see anywhere to connect it.

Try a little wider shot so we can see the whole engine in there without the airbox. It should be right on the intake manifold. As far as the line that’s not hooked up, the bigger picture of the engine should help there too

Ok I took another look online and it looks like it’s not quite in the same spot after all.
its down on the the front right hand side of the intake manifold, if you are facing the engine from the front, try looking here. Also the loose hose could connect to the airbox.

OK I had seen an image similar to that one but wasn't sure it was looking from the front. I have looked all down in that area but will look again. You may be right about that line. I removed the airbox to find the MAP sensor and it may have come loose. When I checked the airbox I didn't see where that line connected. I'll double check it all. I do have a couple of other pictures I can check.

Man I really appreciate your time.
