I live in a rural area and I have a new to me 2006 with Hk. My other vehicles get several FM channels, but the Mini is horrible.

I have researched the issue and my understanding is the roof antanae is mainly for AM and FM utilizes the rear defrost. I checked the amp in the tailgate and it seems fine. AM reception is very good.

So the question. I have tested the rear defroster and it is in very poor condition. Maybe a quarter of it works and the bottom wavy line is not working at all. All verticle supply lines are good. Does it make sense to replace the rear glass? Any idea if this would fix the issue. The grid is too far gone to do a repair with the repair kits.
