My issue I think are the bushings not the shocks. Shocks look good and I hear sounds that occur from things that aren't even engaging the shocks.

I had this installed by my MINI guy in town, who usually does real good work. My plan is to change the bushings since they are already en route to see if that fixes it.
Would it be worth bringing it by the mechanic to ask them to check their work/diagnose the noise?
You bought the FEBI's? Let me know how they work out or if I need the OEM.

I had to bring my MINI to my mechanic for an unrelated reason, and I asked him to see where this noise is coming from.

He said the noise, even though it sounds as it is because of the rear, is due to my front suspension. I actually was planning to replace these (the parts are on their way), and I'll let you know if replacing the front struts fixes the noise!

Well let me know if the FEBI's fit. There is no way in hell my noise is coming from the front. It is center, back....literally just under the trunk somewhere.

that’s what I thought. He said the sound travels. I dunno! We will see when I actually get around to changing the struts.

I can't speak about your car but no way I believe that in my car....
It is pretty prevalent in my car. My car is old. 2011 and driven on lots of dirt roads by previous owner. Driven in North Dakota on salt treated roads. I looked at the rubber bushings under the car and they are hard with space around the metal. The actual metal clamp is rusted and so are the bolts. In fact, my biggest fear will be that I can't get the bolts off. So really I need the clamp and bolts replaced as well if possible.

Also, this looks like a more semi-permanent fix by making them "greasable".
