You are correct. We can only reset the CVT adaptations, but the Aisin transmission has adaptive learning also. I have found a simplified Aisin learning technique similar to the CVT learning, but still nothing on how to reset the Aisin adaptations. I have a harsh 1st to 2nd shift and a lag in 5th to 6th. I have a new valve body coming, but I'm convinced that after 3 trans oil changes, if I could clear the current adaptive values and get this thing to shift right. Any help would be appreciated, adown
The AISIN 6 speed and the CVT arent the same. If you are having issues with shifting and the code setting check the connector in front of the transmission, on my clubman S it had corroded both pins for the speed sensor and was stuck in limp mode. If the code keeps coming back there is a resistance problem in the circuit.
unplug the connector and inspect closely both pins running to the speed sensors were corroded off and broken into the female portion of the connector.
I replaced the harness going to the valve body and it cured my problem. Mine started with the previous owner attempting to JB weld the coolant reservoir and it was constantly dripping on top of the connector.

You just need to get a copy of ISTA+ and a K+D Can cable. You can then read your tranny fluid temps, reset your ECU adaptations, etc. Otherwise, you'll have to take it into the dealership and have them do it for you.
