A/C blower operating only at low speed

For the past few weeks, my 2013 Mini Clubman S with Climate Control system has been intermittently only operating at a low speed. Attempting to manually increase the fan speed does nothing. There is cold air coming out of the vents, but I can't get it to blow a larger volume/faster speed. The next time you get in the car, everything works fine.
I've checked the alternator and the output is good.
I checked the cabin air filter and its in good shape.
Fuse is ok.

Suggestions?

Checked the blower motor resistor.
was a big help at figuring out how to get the resistor out. Put the test meter on it as shown in the video and it seems to be operating properly. The fan motor still seems to be operating very randomly. I tried installing a new resistor and strangely enough the blower stopped working all together. Put the old one in and its currently operating as it should be.

This one has me stumped. The blower is completely random now. Some days it works at all speeds, some days it won't operate at a higher speed than low. Not sure what else to check...

Sounds like the lo-1-2-3-4 etc. switch is faulty.

Hi,

Did you find where was the problem? I have the exact same issue, only half speed. The blower motor seems to move freely. I've checked the the blower resistor with a multimeter and the voltage increase to reach a maximum at 5.2V. Even if I increase speed it stays at 5.2V.

Could it be the resistor, or the maybe the switch?

Thanks

I also have the exact same issue. The resistor is not at fault, but what is?!?
This is an intermittent blower speed issue. Sometimes it works properly. Sometimes it blows only on low speed.
Please let me know if you find a solution.

Found the issue!!
May be it's too late for you but It was the battery. In fact i've ignored many warnings, like the start and stop that was not working anymore (about 1 year ago 😅) but it was ok for me I always deactivate it, time to time the car didn't start correctly, and finally I had a yellow warning that said service (but the battery voltage was ok at that time), until the battery was completely dead. I changed it and now it's working correctly.

My guess is that if the voltage drop, the AC is maybe not the "priority" 😁. When I've checked the voltage through the blower motor resistor I only had between 0 to 5-6V instead of 0 to 12V for low to max position. Witch is not the default behavior of fault resistor or a dead blower motor

Hope this will help you! or maybe somone else

I'll inspect the battery but has anyone else resolve this issue?
