Hello water leaking around Apillar onto headliner.

Recently changed A pillar tim on both sides. Does anyone know where I can get little trim piece that attaches to gutter and wraps around on top of windshield top trim. Its only about 5 inches long and has s body clip. As changing trim it broke off. Now everytime it rains my headline is soaked and drips down onto seat and floor.

I would also recommend checking the forward drain tubes from the sunroof, if you have one. They can clogged with debris and cause water to leak into the cabin.

A common problem with the drain tubes at the front and rear of the sunroof cassette is the rubber hoses slip off. The front tubes are a real issue because the fuse panel on the drivers side and the body control module on the passenger side will get wet and cause electrical problems.

If you have a sunroof the first thing I would do is partially drop the headliner to check and secure the 4 connections with small hose clamps.

Funny you say that, I have the headliner out of my 2005 r53 and I've read about the clogged and leaky sunroof drain tubes. I checked my rear ones this morning and while looking at it and pulling them off I said to myself "these are not on there very well....there is no way I'm putting the headliner back in without first putting some small hose clamps on these!" This is my first German car. I'm German, and I already can't stand German automobile engineers.

They, (Germans) like any of the engineers these days, plan for failures. The days of high quality, long lasting cars are over. Timed failure is the name of the game these days!

Took a pillar covers off and fab'd a new gasket for front of side gutter that wraps overlapping windshield seal. This side had no rubber left in there. To get new one you have to buy whole side gutter. Well after removing cover put fresh weather seal. Silicone sealed any possible place I thought water could enter. Light rain today and water is slowly leaking from under inside a pillar down door seal onto floor. I m going to blow out drain tubes on front sunroof corners. My question is does anyone know where they drain to.

The front ones drain just behind the front tires, behind the plastic inner fenders.

A BIG thank you. It was the rubber tube from sun roof to tube running through front pillar. Was a bit of challenge with my big hands but used a light coat of silicone then clamped back into place. Why wouldn't they even ziptie it. Well enough for today another mess fixed , its almost like having a Harley again.

This is a very realistic comparison except less Torx and Allen head bolts on the MINI.
