Recently purchased the Bcables.com package to try to resolve what seems to be an EWS issue, and need input from anybody with experience with INPA and/or with the BMCables package (cable and 2 DVDs).
I’ve been able to install (on a Windows 7 64-bit sled) the INPA software and the TIS (manual), but not the DIS (VMware is installed, but the DIS install goes nowhere). TIS won’t recognize my VIN. Any ideas about getting DIS to install, or entering my VIN into TIS would be more than welcome.


INPA connects to the car fine. What I think are the most relevant bits of info are:
Under the Engine section, the EMS2K script gives me “No response from control unit”.
Under the Body section, the Immobiliser script gives me the following:
Internal Status: EWS Virginal: NO
DME line switched free: YES
ISN password: ERROR_ECU_REJECTED

So evidently something’s up with my ECU. I don’t know if it being out of sync with the EWS would cause this, or if this indicates something else/more serious with the ECU.


If anybody is interested, I can seek out other info, but in the absence of a manual (I was counting on TIS to help me sort through this crap). Obviously I was hoping the cable and software would allow me to avoid towing the car to a pro, but that’s starting to look like where I’m headed unless someone can point me in the right direction.

Still haven't been able to install DIS. As for the ecu_rejected/no response from control unit errors.....had it towed to my local indy, where I learned that in my fear of bending or damaging the pins on the ECU, I hadn't seated it fully. <facepalm>. Live and learn, I guess.....
