2014 Countryman S all 4 98k miles

 

I remember another club member that had the chain on a 2012 hard top done at 160,000 miles. It was quite noisy.

Anyone else?

 

I bought a 2011 S hardtop with a broken chain...luckily the valves were fine. im seeing few of those in the auction with "engine damage" for that reason. mine had i think more than 75k

 

130,000 for chain replacement. Upper guide complete broke off and lower guides were starting to break causing an oil pressure issue. Tensioner was completely collapsed

Replaced Chain, Guides, Vanos gears and tensioner.

Did the replacement myself for about $500 (Mini Cooper Service wanted $3500)

The only issue now from what I can tell is the resetting of the Adaptation and will see if the local guys can do it
