N14 coolant bleeder screw not tightening

I’ve replaced coolant several times. Never had an issue. Screw always tightens up. Not sure what happened. I might’ve backed it out too far. Don’t know. The screw turns but never tightens. Stripped screw? Stripped thermostat where screw goes in? Do I need a new screw? Is there something I missed? What should I do here guys?

I blew the treads out of a new thermostat housing when I over tighten the screw. Had to get another housing. Tried new screw and didnt work. Have and extra bleed screw if you wish to try.
Where in Nor-Cal? I'm in Fairfield
