Stock Problems/IssuesDiscussions related to warranty related issues and repairs, or other problems with the OEM parts and software for MINI Clubman (R55), Cooper and Cooper S(R56), and Cabrio (R57).
Good day. I have a 2010 R56.....been working on several things on this car but something I havent been able to find is a how-to on changing the horn on this thing. It is beyond embarrassing. So when there's a jackass playing with his phone when the light turns green, i cant blast him with the horn because its so lame. it literally sounds like a clown car horn. Planning to get the hella super tones....
im not sure on the r56, but on the r52, its on the front passenger side in front of the tire(behind the fender liner). There are actually two horns, a high and low tone.
When I purchased my Mini the horns didn't work. I replaced them with the Hella horns and it was fairly easy. The tone is good. Oh, didn't need to use the relay that comes with it. Even confirmed this with Hella.

I got your back on this one. After being ignored (and almost hit 3 times by F***ing texters, I went to a shop that does mods, restorations, brakes, et al and had them install an air horn from a diesel tractor. Someone cuts me off and they crap their pants. Same for someone tailgating me. Noise is a beautiful thing. Also have original horn and wheel control for those times where a gentle "beep" is need at a stop light.
