2008 mini. Non S 99k miles automatic....

lost use of everything except that windows open and close 1" when opening door. Also if I push the cluster buttons it will display the mileage when I push the right hand button.

no lights when doors open, no key fob response, car doesn't recognize when insert key.

maybe immobilizer issue? Or dme die?

daily driver and dreading getting towed to dealer....

 

Also the gas gas blinks for a split second randomly. It only blinks once and few minutes apart.

 

Could be a lot different things. One question would be, how old is the battery?

 

Battery is from 2015. Holds good charge, 12.6v today

pretty sure it's the CAS module. Doesn't look to be an easy remedy. I do however have ista, ncs, win kfp, took 32 etc so hopefully I can figure out what has to be coded.

 

I just went thru this. Electronics went wacky, car wouldn't start. Battery a bit less then 3 yrs old (OEM). Figured I'd start with the easy stuff. Pulled battery, took it to NAPA, tested bad. Bought new, life is good again..

 

Interesting.... did you lose everything? Like no response from key or when inserting into key slot?
