Help diagnosing Self Levelling Xenon low beam
Help diagnosing Self Levelling Xenon low beam
My self leveling low beam goes out after about 3 times using it. I have tried the bulb, amplifier pack and the silver control unit. I am 99% confident it's a wiring issue.
Problem is I can't find the correct wiring for a 2005 R52 headlight with self-levelling Xenon.
I have a brown, red and blue wire going to the amplifier. Does anyone know what voltages should be on the red and blue wires? I think it should be 12vdc across them coming from the control unit.
When I measure brown to red or brown to blue, I get 0 VDC and VAC. When I measure red to blue I get 0 VDC and about .13 VAC.
I checked the yellow and brown wire input to the control unit and I have 10 vdc with the light switch off and 11.8 vdc with the switch on (engine off).
The output of the control unit is the brown, red and blue wires going to the low beam amplifier.
Any more help would be appreciated. I can pull the unit apart, ohm it out, checks good and it works when I put it back together. I get nowhere when this happens.
Thanks.

All I can tell you here is the module on these go out and need to be replaced. They are around $55 each side. You can have them tested on a dealer type OBD2 tester.
