R60 N16 Cam Shaft Lock Tool - Which One?
R60 N16 Cam Shaft Lock Tool - Which One?
Greetings,
After doing a lot of searching here on the forum and elsewhere, I'm still not certain which cam shaft lock tool is the the correct one to use for my 2012 Countryman (non-S) with the N16 engine.
I found links to the Koch tools but I couldn't find one listed for the N16.
Has anyone used one of these from Amazon? Will the N12/N14 version work on the N16?

I bought this one to do my N14 engine and ended up throwing it. It's either i didnt know how to use the pieces or it was for something else. The bad thing is they dont provide instruction on pix of which goes to what...I about another set specific to N14 was set.
so, i looked up this one for you and this should be ok i guess. N12 and N16 are similar.

I have one, bought it when I replaced the head gasket on my 12 Clubman with the N16 engine. So, it's been used once.
Cost me $350 and very difficult to find.
I'll let you have it for $300. Let me know.

I used this kit from Schwaben purchased from ECSTUNING - https://www.ecstuning.com/b-schwaben.../023734sch01a/ - Worked perfectly for my N14 timing chain refresh.... don't overthink this - you an spend twice as much or more and the tool is virtually the same - pretty simple, but essential, device.
