Spark Plug Wire Question
Spark Plug Wire Question
Hola! Love the board!
I have a quick question (please bear in mind that I am not the least bit mechanical). I have an '05 LY/B wht chk MCS and would like to put some different wires on it. Not anything performance related, purely for looks. I've read a few posts recommending the Kingsborne's. What I don't know is the difference between 8mm and 9mm and which ones I should use. Obviously there's a difference or they wouldn't make different varieties.
Any info would be great!
Thanks! Garrett

If you are only concerned with appearance and you know you want the Kingsborne wires, then I would recommend you make your selection based on price. Which is cheaper, the 8mm or 9mm wires? Fundamentally, there will be no operating difference between the two in a none race situation. The theory [read marketing speak] between the difference is the larger wire will have less resistance, which boils down to a "hotter" spark. Hotter spark is suppose to equal more power. Again that’s the theory. Hope that helps.
