Brake Pad Wear Sensors?

Looking at my options for pad wear sensors...

https://www.ecstuning.com/Mini-2012-...sors/Pad_Wear/

Is there any advantage going with the OEM sensors? Looks like they are a little costly, considering the alternatives...

Is the existing shot or did you catch it soon enough? I have reused mine with no issues.

I'm just thinking that mine are going to be shot. The brake service reminder showed up in my start-up sequence. From what I can tell, that means they have started to wear and should be replaced during brake servicing.

As such, I'd like to have a set on hand in case they do need to be changed out.

I've done several brake jobs on MINIs and most (not all) require that the sensors need to be replaced even if they appear to be perfect.
I use the ECS brand.

There is no "ECS" brand...

I have used most of them. The OEM vs the others, oem ones have a better-made pinout / female side clip. That's mainly the only difference other than sometimes they have extra plastic or then use a different plastic grade. The pins have to line up and then you press them all the way into the male socket. I had some issues with the pins not being aligned perfectly, but then again I have seen the OEM ones bent a little also. So just make sure in general the two metal pins are straight and line up with the socket. They also have to click in all the way.

A handful of the aftermarket options have less than quality retention on the integral "crab claw clips" and require zip ties to keep the sensor wire from falling off the wheel speed sensor, but other than that they all seem to perform the same.

We stock both options, and since we have a ridiculous stock of zip ties it doesn't hurt us to install the aftermarket ones.
