Hi, Can anyone suggest what the sound could possibly signify? In the last few weeks, increasingly, there is a noise that sounds like humming when I have driven the car for about 10 min(used to be approx 1/2 hr)returned home, parked car in garage, turned off engine and there is a hum that continues for a few minutes. My auto is a Super S 2007 and has approx 150,000 miles.
If it were the radiator fan, then is this a dangerous situation? Would I have to address this issue ASAP? What would have happened, assuming that is the issue?
Bet its the aux water pump. 11537630368 They make a humming noise. If its just after turning the car off and it runs for a short time, it is fine. The main fan should not kick on, unless you are tracking ( race track) it in the winter
Hi, just saw the message from Wine, not Walnuts. I started a new thread because the humming was determined to be coming from the Turbo Charger. This is after having the Thermostat housing replaced. Here are the string of events:
1. Noticed a humming sound when engine is turned off. Going on for last month.
2. Icon appears for Coolant running low. Coolant added. humming still happening.
3. Determined Thermostat housing leaking. Relaced two days ago. Humming still.
4. Started new Thread for Turbo Charger issue. Humming coming from Turbo Charger.
