Hey guys, ever since I installed my intake, I've noticed some humming sound that occurs when I am driving the car. I think it happens usually when i'm coming to a stop and the revs are going down, and the humming goes away near idle speed, or right when I put the clutch in so it goes to idle. This sound doesn't exist with the stock intake, which probably means it was there before, i just didn't hear it as well. I'm getting used to the hum though, but just wondering, what is that sound? Is it pressure releasing from the SC boost?

Does the hum get really loud at WOT? It could just be that cool intake sucking sound but your just not used to it yet.

Ive had that problem before but with a toyota truck custom intake I had made. just check all you fittings, the humming you hear could me a part moving/ vibrating. if you notice the engine seems to be understrain only when you start moving and it disappears when you are moving, which could explain the humming disappearing when you are at idle.

No.. you hear it when you're off throttle and the rev's are going down, you won't hear anything unless it's less than 3k (maybe even lower, i haven't observed that precisely). That's when you hear the hum. I have to have somebody rev hte engine for me slightly while i look under the hood for anything suspicious. Maybe it's some sort of vacuum tube or something, I am not sure about sounds associated with superchargers. In any case, the car runs beautifully, so no, there is no strain of any sort like that, the sound doesn't affect performance in that way.

Oh man, I'm now experiencing the same thing...does anyone know what the problem is or where this sound is coming from...tires, engine, tranny, supercharger??? No other weird sounds but when I come to a stop...it's like a winding-down sound??? No mods except for intake.

Thanks!
J
