Post Tensioner, Valve Cover, Vacuum Pump Service “engine noise”

I am looking for any insight. Had the car down for the Services listed above. I replaced the tensioner with the new part number with the longer shafted unit.

i am attaching a video. Does this sound like a normal engine? Obviously the noises are more pronounced on the video.

i would appreciate any thoughts. My wife thinks I’m being paranoid and says it sounds like her 2010 did... there is no cold start rattle, or engine shaking, just the sound in the video. I the chain was tight I checked it while the VC was off.

They are noisy little things! Even my 2011 S with the N18 scares me when I open the hood while idling. Some of the noise you are hearing is the fuel injectors cracking. With a HPFP and direct injection, almost sounds like a diesel to me. I say it sounds normal, but DO check your oil level, and do it OFTEN!

It does sound a little noisy to me, but it could be just because it sounds a little more pronounced on the video. When you back away and rev the engine, THAT sounds pretty good.

I'm super paranoid about my engine noise, too, but I've gotten a little more used to the tappet noise as time has gone on.

How does this noise compare to your engine noise before you changed the tensioner?

I honestly don’t remember. It was delivered, I drove it one day to work, and then put it in the garage to do the work.
