I have a 2008 mini cooper r56 (base hatchback) n12 sohc that I need to replace the clutch.
I also want to replace the flywheel at the same time.

Questions:
1. Can anyone help find kits online that are compatible at decent prices?
2. Any brands I should avoid?

No need to replace the flywheel, you can have it resurfaced for under $100.

let's say I did want to change the flywheel... what conversion kit could you recommend?

 

There is no conversion kit on the market that I would recommend, we could get you a stock MINI flywheel and a Valeo clutch replacement kit and that would cover the bases of a new flywheel and clutch.
