Combination Switch Help!!!!!

Hello, I just purchased a 2007 Cooper S - which is suffering from the common combination switch issue. (Wipers turn on randomly when you turn off ignition, Blinkers don't cancel on their own, and brake/dsc light is on). I can't seem to find the correct part number on eBay for the life of me that will replace this. Can anyone help point me in the right direction??

Here's my VIN#
WMWMF73517TL83100

Took off my steering wheel today to get the part number:

I found this on REALOEM using my VIN:
http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=61_2300

will the one below work, even though it has the automatic headlight, mine doesn't have the automatic icon? this part number shows on that real oem page.

If you have found the correct one that supersedes your existing one that is good, I guess you have rain sensor. When you replace the clockspring steering colum switch unit you will still have to get a BMW shop or dealer to code it to your DSC. It has to have the VIN number correspoding to the ECU. Mine took the dealer 15 mins and charged me for 30 mins labour. If you bought the car like this, are you sure it is a clockspring/switch fault? How do you know? If the previous owner changed out this unit without having it coded these are the exact symptoms you will get. Hill start doesn't work, indicator cannot cancel automatically because the SZL is not recognised therefore the steering angle is not calibrated, and the wipers go mental. Headlights may also not function correctly although mine did. I would contact the seller and ask for a truthful answer if he/she had the switch unit changed.

I purchased the car from a younger girl. My guess is no. The fact i can't even find this part number on my SZL is puzzling.. So I was hoping the one i posted I found would work even though it has the automatic headlight option..

Would this still work, with my car but if my car was not equipped with automatic headlights that portion just wouldn't work?

Yep that's the one I ordered, got a brand new one today. Installed it, cleared the codes and within seconds the lights came back on. Any other suggestions?

My Creator OBD reader is giving me codes under the SZL module saying "Not Communicating" even with a brand new SZL/Combination Switch. Ugh..

I believe the new ones have to be coded to the car. Call up the MINI dealer, i think its one hour shop time to flash.
