anyone use an atlantic automotive engineering remanufactured power steering pump? ECS seems to have the best price on them, and no core charge.

If I do not go with them I'll probably go with a rebuilt bosch/zf from fcp euro it has a core charge but they have that wonderful replacement warranty


mine is a 06 and not part of the recall, today it got loud, much louder than the normal buzzing they make. Tail of the dragon in 2 weeks I probably should order a replacement tomorrow.

 

Hmmm, a little handicap on your part will make the rest of us look better on the Dragon.

 

I dont get crazy at the dragon

It is more enjoyable when you do not have F1 wannabes on your butt. Crazy time should be on the track, you have that right.

On the pump, how much longer you plan on keeping the car?

Pump arrived, and it's broken, the electrical connector on the bottom is broken and lose

hope the replacement makes it in time for tail of the dragon

we are leaving at 7am friday morning I dropped the bad part off at fedex saturday afternoon

fedex here is very very very bad, the boxes always look like they were thrown around, crushed corners etc etc. And they steal ebay packages I've had it happen a couple times "left on porch" I have cameras thankfully but the sender gets stiffed out of the part.

We are 1 1/2 hours from the fedex they route our stuff from, almost without fail they will say "business closed" until they want to make the drive out here

UPS is completely different we have had the same guy for years and he's great, he's here every other day thanks to amazon prime

 

I for one see the difference between Fed Ex and UPS. The UPS drivers typically are much more professional. While they still speed thru the 25 MPH residential streets, they are seldom 5 MPH over. Not with Fed Ex. Fed Ex drivers tend to be ashholes flying thru and even with blind corners. And oh, there is the cut rate Amazon self-employed delivery vans that is gen 1 Sprinters with a trillion miles...

USPS is a mixed bag. The regular drivers are sensible, but not the one that substitute for the regulars that go on vacation. Just last week the sub came to the door and toss my package because he didn't like being forced to get out of the van. Caught on candid security cameras.

How was the dragon?

 

it was great, only one speeding ticket. Wife enjoyed it so much she already booked the hotel for next year, and is shopping radar detectors

the roads south of the dragon back towards asheville were much less crowded and just as fun. The dragon at night, wow that was not what I expected best part is no leaf'ers or harleys at night

 

That's great you had a good time and it all worked out with the pump. yea you have to watch coming off that hill at the end close to the water. Most of the time they sit there.

At night with tons MINIs is crazy. I have done it and it's not to be missed.
