Need Airbag Light Fault Code Help Please

Greetings, I picked up a R53 Dark Silver Mini last year. Car has almost every option available on it I think.....we had to do some repairs and maintenance on the car, supercharger oil service, new radiator, new fan resistor, plus a couple other minor items. Everything was fine up until a few months ago when the airbag light came on all of a sudden while driving. I pulled the code which reads:

Code 0B - Ignition Circuit ZK10 / Safety Battery Switch 1

I was wondering if anyone else has dealt with this, I can't find much info, Alldata is no help, and I really don't want to have to go to the dealer for this.....I can fix it myself if I knew what the problem is

Appreciate any help that anyone can give, thanks

Bryan

What year car? Have you verified the car is not part of the passenger side airbag sensor recall?

Oops, sorry.....car is an '04 Cooper S, manufactured 10-7-2003.....I also put a new battery in shortly after we got it, I also tried the resistor trick on the 2 wire leads coming off the positive battery lead for the "accident explosive disconnect", that didn't work either.....I can clear the code, and as soon as I start the car, the light comes right back on and the code is always the same --> Code 0B - Ignition Circuit ZK10 / Safety Battery Switch 1

Thanks

Most people with that probelm had a bad cable or the cables on the terminal need cleaned. Try that first.

Get the schwaben tool as its designed to troubleshoot and read MINI specific fault codes.

Then clear it with our reader and see if it comes back up again. This tool shows you all the codes that were burried and never cleaered.

Is this a stand alone tool, or does it have to be connected to a laptop to work?

Stand alone and you can get updates which you hook into your computer like an iPhone update.

Just ordered the scan tool, thanks

I'll do a little bit of cleaning on the cable ends and in the battery compartment and see what happens.....I'm hoping that I don't have to purchase an entire new positive cable assembly.....

Just an update on my airbag light issue...I got the scan tool from ECS and read all the codes that were in the car...there were so many that I just cleared all the codes and the light has never come back on since....

The only codes that come back now are for the right and left rear tail lights...I figure I will ignore those because I have LED bulbs throughout the car

Thanks to ECS for this scanner recommendation
