There was a failure on one of the four ignition coils of my R56S and iam wondering, is there some way to repair this piece of electrical "rod" in order to fix it and reuse it, or is it burned, gon, bye bye situation?

It's not repairable, get a new one. MINI brand ones are the best. It may be a good idea to replace them all unless your car has low mileage. They do wear out and if one has gone bad the rest may not be far behind.

I saw some at Amazon that said that they were Mini OEM made by Bosch.

Genic, you really should put your year and model car in your signature. I don't remember what year car you have.

Looking at ECS Tuning I see Bosch ignition coils go for $27.50 each and the ones that says "Genuine MINI" are $78 - I don't have a turbo Mini... should I worry if I get the Bosch ones that are so much cheaper??

Oh, I also wanted to ask I had an ignition coil replaced a year ago, maybe 10k ago - and another ignition coil just went 2 months ago, is it OK to just replace the 2 that are original to the car? I have a 2010 "Justa" Clubbie with about 47k miles. I don't mind replacing all of the spark plugs and ignition coils (at $27.50) but at $70 a pop I'll have to save up some money...
