I guess even if you replace the hall sensor there will be other damaged components.

The best option is to be patient and keep looking on eBay for exactly the same model number SZL. After that is installed, it is possible to code it to the car, although usually not by main dealer. Look for someone who does BMW autodiagnostics and remaping etc..

P.s. are you sure this is the original szl for your car? Somebody might have changed it for the wrong model.

The -3 and the -4 on parts are usually the internal revisions of the same part by MINI/manufacture

I think I emailed 'Global Parts' in the UK and they checked my VIN number against the correct original part. Or maybe I emailed the main dealer, I forget it now.

They confirm like: ASC not DSC, xenon head lights, no cruise control, rain sensor etc.. Everything they said was correct for my car.

It was not the SZL part number that my car had installed, so I knew somebody had changed it before me. I think this explained my DSC signal error, becasue DSC was not on my car, I had ASC. However the SZL also had a 'internal fault'. Best to confirm the part number and buy replacement then code.

Very few of these aftermarket tools work. Even my supposedly powerful AUTOENGINUITY software couldn't do it.
Hi,
I had issues with the SZL on Mini Cooper 2008. I replaced with used one (matching number) and the steering angle is correct, windshield wipers and lights are working too. The problem I’m having a the left signal doesn’t work! Also, I get error for the DSC (mainly not calibrated). I have not taken it to Mini shop for coding yet.
Would coding the new szl solve the problem?
The appointment I got is 10 days away. Is there a way to activate the left signal until then.

thanks

Its weird that one indicator works and the other doesnt. I dont recall if that was the case when I put on the new one and before I had it calibrated.

Sorry.

I paid someone to calibrate because Autoenginuity software isn't capable but BMW standard tools can calibrate but you need to be able to connect via the USB port. Software is free.

I have no problem paying someone to calibrate. My question was would the turn signal and DSC calibration work after (I.e. are they related to the coding not being done)?
thanks

I understood you're questions but I don't know. Hopefully someone else does but you can try it for free by using using BMW tools software
