For the love of God, please help! No spark on cylinders 1 & 4
Stock Problems/IssuesDiscussions related to warranty related issues and repairs, or other problems with the OEM parts and software for MINI Clubman (R55), Cooper and Cooper S(R56), and Cabrio (R57).
Underneath, in "bellhousing" near motor, there is a cover with a sensor in it, remove sensor it will reveal the reluctor attached to ring gear/flywheel, mark where it is, If you turn the motor over by hand to go full 360, check the pins. In my case, 3 pins were bent. Good Luck
Wow........okkkkkkkkkkay finally glad you got it figured out.
Y'all gave me a few ideas for checking out a small issue with
my vehicle. My car is running great periodically the check engine
light would come on after sitting overnight. When I scan the codes
with schwaben scan tool.... I get the d904 and miss fire on cylinder 4
I pulled all the dashboard components and center console to check out all connections... I did change out my speedometer just to see if that was part of my communication problem..... I've changed coils and plugs several times for having a misfire on cylinder 4....... Going to see what happens this morning.

Oh my gosh!!!! This was my problem! I spent FOUR MONTHS and close to $2000 on parts and tools troubleshooting my crank/no start problem following a clutch replacement. I pulled off the plastic cover under the car and spun the flywheel a few teeth at a time. I found 3-4 pins SLIGHTLY bent on the flex plate. I’m in the south and I couldn’t find a shop that would even look at my car. It was fix-it-myself or sell-it-for-parts. I’m so glad I found this post!!! It’s a great car that I’ve been fixing up for a while.
