2008 mini cooper timing belt

Hey guys, I would like to know if you have any idea how much would it cost to fix the TIMING BELT? And my car as well is leaking oil, and there is something they want me to look out for the AXLE SEAL?

I just want to know roughly it cost before i fully paid the car, thanks guys. This is a second hand mini cooper, bought year ago.

See image for more details.

08 Convertible correct as if this is a hardtop you have the 2nd Gen I thought the timing chain on that gen was a recall item? Others can chime in on the timing belt but I would think you are talking at least $500, I saw a $2,000 cost for a Gen 2 replacement.

Waterpump replacement from a dealer is another $500 at least. If you have the 08 Vert, some of the oil leaks could be the crank sensor o-ring. Shop will charge $200+ as you have to go to "front service mode"

Thanks for responding.

I have read about the recall about the timing belt on the timing belt. I didn't received any information regarding it. And as far as i recall, hearing ended last year by November? Would i still be qualify for reimbursement? Im planning to get it fix before i paid it off.

yes its a hardtop 2008 base mini cooper.

i already fix the coolant and the water pump mini dealership quote me for a little over $900, but brought it some independent dealer else where i got it for half the price.

Suggest you post your question in the Gen 2 sections.

You need to go here for the timing chain. Its a Gen 2 MINI N14 thing. The water pump is one there also.

There was a TSB about the tensioner and possible chain.

Call your MINI dealership and check on that first, to see if it was done.
