Coil Replacement

Has anyone needed to replace their coils? It seems mine all went bad at once. Seems a little fishy to me.

I had two that were failing intermittently all at once on my 2011 MCS. My aftermarket warranty company authorized replacing all 4 coils, if the MINI dealer could get all 4 cylinders to show misfires. The dealer swapped coils around, got all 4 cylinders to set misfire codes. (Maybe they just unplugged the other 2. LOL.) Hendrick Autoguard authorized 4 new MINI coils to be installed, and my $100.00 deductible somehow turned into only a $48.00 charge from my MINI dealer. And, I got a free loaner MINI from the dealer while they did the diagnosis and repair. Pretty cool!

Did you get a CEL code for all 4 cylinders?

You should replace them all at the same time, regardless. It is a VERY simple job. Buy the coils online, and do a youtube search on how to do it.

I've had 2 go out in the past, had them both replaced. I replaced all 4 in the past month because I was having issues that turned out to be the HPFP but at around $100 for all 4 I figured it was an easy thing to do in order to rule those out.

Suggestions on where to purchase online? Or go to local AutoZone? I imagine since our systems are super sensitive that aftermarket isn't the best...
Also gonna do plugs and coils at the same time.

I had one coil replaced. Should I replace the other three?
