215K Supercharger oil levels

So yesterday I took the supercharger off the car. I was doing a complete rebuild of the front suspension and figured..."Hey I'm this far". I poured out the contents of the front and rear resevoir, got about a 1/2 oz. of oil out of 2oz. for one and 2oz. out of 6oz. for the other. I'm really glad I decided to refill.

The gears are in excellent shape, this was mainly a highway car so except for the low oil levels all is good. It also gave me the opportunity to swap out all the o-rings and gaskets on the front of the motor which were forming self-sufficient cities of oil and road grime.

No pics but here's to another 215k miles!

You've got 215k miles on your supercharger? If so, thats pretty darn good! It seems you take great care of your MINI. We just recently did a service on our supercharger as well. Did a write up for any of those that may be interested HERE. How did the oil look? Any signs of metal? You can see how the oil in ours looked at that link.

Oil was in surprisingly good shape, no metal in it at all. Mine wasn't as dark as yours.

I take pretty good care of it. I think it helps most of my 215k is all highway. 60 mile one-way commutes add up quickly!

I take pretty good care of it but I've been mildly neglectful too. I think it helps most of my 215k is all highway. 60 mile one-way commutes add up quickly!
That's pretty awesome. 60 miles one way is a lot! Glad the oil was cleaner than ours and no particles were in the oil. Here is to 215k more!
